1978: RCA CC-001 Single Vidicon Color Camera.

        Vintage: 1978. this is the first color camera offered to the consumer by RCA. It uses a striped filter, frequency separation system, vidicon tube that is one inch in diameter. This camera has a built in microphone, detachable one inch CRT viewfinder, and detachable pistol grip / shoulder rest. It can be mounted on a tripod with, or without, the shoulder rest mounted on the camera. It connected to any of a number of portable VHS recorders of that era or could be operated stand alone with an optional AC adapter. The connecting cable is a generous ten feet long for lots of freedom of movement. The lens shown here, which is not original, is a Sony f 1.8, 17 mm to 90 mm zoom. On the rear of the camera there are controls for adjusting the camera to varying lighting conditions. This includes outdoors, indoors fluorescent light and indoors incandescent light. Red and blue gain controls are provided for fine tuning the color balance.
