1984: Sharp QC-54 Single Tube Color Camera.
.
Vintage: 1984 Single
tube color camera. The lens is an f 1. 9, 10 mm to 30 mm 3:1 zoom type
with an optical, "through the lens", viewfinder. The 3:1 zoom range is
very ungratifying and virtually pointless. The viewfinder has a diopter
which allows adjusting the focus to your eye, similar to the way that binoculars
work. The camera tube is mounted vertically in the hand grip and is coupled
to the rest of the optics by a "one way" mirror also known as a beam splitter
prism. The imager tube in this camera is a 2/3 inch Newvicon. There are
two manual controls on the side of the camera, visible in the second photo.
The first is for manual zoom control for the lens and the second is color
temperature control. This camera has a six foot long cable that plugged
into a separate VTR or power pack with a 10 pin connector. Color is (probably)
dissected by a striped filter over the Newvicon photo target using a frequency
separation method. This item is in extremely fine condition and produces
a high quality image. In addtion to all the features just mentioned, there
is a (removable) microphone and the customary VTR start / stop trigger
swithch on the front of the unit. I have no other information on this camera
at this time.
WANTED: Service and or
Users manuals for this camera.
