197?: Sony AVC-4000A Vidicon Studio Camera!
.
This is a fine example of mature mid 1970s technology. The AVC-4000A is a studio type B/W vidicon camera with a very unique, built in, 7" B/W, flat faced, CRT viewfinder. It uses a two thirds inch vidicon tube. I don't have much information yet about this model, but I will post it as soon as I get it! These photos are from the original Ebay listing, where I just purchased this camera. Stay tuned!

Update Information 02.08.15:
Boycott United Parcel Service!
Enjoy these photos folks. These are all that remains of this rare and collectable camera. Thanks to UPS, this camera was destroyed in transit ~ AGAIN! I swear, UPS can damage an anvil! Every item I have ever shipped by UPS suffer some form of damage regardless of how it is packed. NO EXCEPTIONS! I will no longer use their shipping service. Period! [CLICK HERE] to see what a shaved gorilla* can do to a priceless antique! The image is too sad to post in the open. Even though the damage is mostly localized to the lens, it made it impossible to get the lens off to either repair or replace it (as if that were possible, since it is a typical semi-customized lens that only fits this camera! Note the matching paint job of the lens and camera). To collect on the shipping insurance, LabGuy's World had to surrender the camera back to the UPS insurance claims division. Why don't places like that ever receive anthrax laced letters? "Brown", my a..! We all know what's really brown...
From now on, if you must use UPS, insure every item for TEN times its face value and mercilessly demand FULL payment for ANY damage. Do not take NO for an answer. Kick them where it hurts them most. In the wallet!
Try this. Using your favorite search engine, [or mine], type in, "UPS sucks" or "UPS damage" and marvel at the thousands of references listed there! Can you say, "Class Action Lawsuit"? I'm writing my congressman, since shaking down crooked huge corporations is the news story of the day. Good bye, UPS!

        NEEDED: Nothing. There's no point.
