196?: Shibaden HV-14 General Purpose Vidicon

Here is a nice video
camera from the late 1960's. It uses a one inch vidicon tube for image
pickup. The lens is a standard C-mount 25 mm f 1. 9. The unit contains
two UHF (output) connectors. One for direct video out and one for RF output
on an unused VHF TV channel. Electrical controls consist of an On/Off switch,
a switch to select either Manual or ALC (Auomatic Light Control),
a control for vidicon (electrical) focus, a control for vidicon beam level,
a control for vidicon target voltage (when in Manual level mode), a control
for VHF channel tuning and finally a mechanical focus control. This last
control "racks" the vidicon and its deflection assembly back and forth
behind the lens allowing for the proper setting of the lens "back focus"
point. Highly useful, especially if a zoom lens were installed. This
unit is very primitive relative to many in this collection. This Shibaden
HV-14 is in very good and clean physical condition. The operational condition
of this camera is unknown and it is untested at this time.
