1977: JVC GC-4600U - Compact Vidicon Portapack Camera.
.
This camera, the GC-4600U, has a one inch B/W electronic viewfinder and a built in microphone. The imager is a 2/3" vidicon tube. The lens is by Canon; f 1.8, 12. 5 mm - 75 mm, 6:1 zoom. A start / stop button is built into the case and is mechanically coupled to the trigger of the pistol grip handle. This camera is extremely light and very well built for products of this era. The magnifier lens and rubber eye cup is missing, as well as the matching pistol grip. The whole thing weighs only four pounds even when it had all of its missing components (eye cup, magnifier lens and pistol grip). This is the mate to the PV-4500U B/W 1/2" EIAJ portapack VTR or the PV-4800U Color 1/2" EIAJ portapack VTR. I believe it could also be used with the CR-4400U, 3/4" Umatic portapack.
WANTED: Service and/or Operators manuals for this camera. The proper original pistol grip handle and viewfinder components for this camera would also be nice. . .
