1972: Panasonic WV-3082 - Vidicon Portapack Camera.
.
This camera is the mate to the Panasonic NV-3082 EIAJ portapack VTR. It has a 2/3" vidicon tube, 1-1/2" CRT viewfinder. The lens is the common Fujinon 6:1 (12.5 - 75mm) zoom lens. Weighing about 6 pounds, makes it equivelant to carrying the Sony AVC-3400. Unfortunately, the pistol grip is not easily removable. The camera can be mounted on a tripod, attached at the bottom of the grip, but it is not a very stable arrangement. I guess you were expected to pack the thing around by hand most of the time.
