.
Vintage: 197? Single tube two piece color camera. The lens is an f 1. 8, 25 mm fixed. The system consists of a camera head and a CCU or Camera Control Unit. The two are connected by standard EIAJ 10 pin extension cable up to 100 meters long (according to the cable equalizer control on the CCU). The pickup tube is a Trinicon / Saticon. That is to say, it has a Saticon target (Selenium / Arsenic / Tellurium) but configured in the patented Sony Trinicon color dissecting system. The image quality is excellent from this unit. The small camera head and high color fidelity allowed this system to be used in critical medical uses, such as surgical view camera and or microscopy analysis. The camera head has a connector on the side allowing it to use an electronically controlled lens. This connector is hidden beneath the large round port in the upper left photo.
