1968 Panasonic WV-8080 - Early Vidicon Portapack Camera

        This camera is the mate to the Panasonic NV-3080 EIAJ record only portapack VTR. (See the NV-3080 on the EIAJ portapack page) This camera has a 2/3" vidicon tube and a 1-1/2" CRT viewfinder. I don't know if it would support playback in the viewfinder, like most portapack cameras, since this one works a record only VTR. The lens is the common 6:1 (12.5 - 75mm) zoom lens. Medium light at about 7 pounds, makes it as easy to carry as the Sony AVC-3400. The pistol grip is easily removed for convenient tripod mounting as shown in the photos. Shown here with the cable removed and with the microphone missing (note the mic mount on top).
